How SENTIO collects, uses, and protects your data — written in plain English. No legalese, no surprises.

WHO WE ARE

SENTIO is an educational market intelligence platform for Indian F&O traders, available at sentiotrader.in. We are not a SEBI-registered investment advisor. Nothing on the platform constitutes financial advice. SENTIO is a personal project built and operated independently.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use SENTIO, why we collect it, what we do with it, and what rights you have. It applies to everyone who visits the website or signs up as a Founding Scholar.

WHAT WE COLLECT

1. Information you provide directly

When you sign in with Google to become a Founding Scholar, we receive:

Your name and email address (from your Google account)
Your profile photo (from your Google account)
A unique Firebase user ID assigned to you by our authentication system

2. Information generated by your activity on SENTIO

As you use the platform, we record:

Your virtual trading activity — orders placed, positions, journal entries
Your learning progress — lessons completed, quizzes attempted, XP earned
Your virtual portfolio capital and performance metrics
Whether you joined before 31st May 2026 (Founding Scholar flag)

3. Information collected automatically

Your IP address and approximate location (city-level)
Your browser type, operating system, and device type
Pages you visit on SENTIO and how long you stay
Clicks, scrolls, and interactions for product improvement

Beta Improvement Period

Until 30th May 2026, we use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymised user sessions. This helps us identify bugs, improve confusing parts of the interface, and prioritise what to build next. Sensitive content like portfolio values and personal details are masked automatically. Recordings are used only for product improvement and are not shared with third parties beyond Microsoft Clarity itself. After 30th May 2026, we will revisit this collection and give you the option to opt out from your account settings.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

To run the platform — authenticate your sign-ins, save your virtual trades, restore your journal across devices.
To improve SENTIO — find broken buttons, confusing labels, slow pages. The whole point of the beta period is to fix what doesn't work.
To prevent abuse — block fraud, spam, and attempts to break the platform.
To communicate with you — send important account notifications, platform updates, and Founding Scholar communications.

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not share data with marketing partners. SENTIO has no advertisers.

THIRD PARTIES WE USE

To run SENTIO we rely on a few standard infrastructure services. Each one sees only the data it needs:

Google Firebase

Authentication and database. Stores your account, virtual portfolio, journal, and learning progress. Servers located in asia-south1 (Mumbai).

Microsoft Clarity

Session recordings and heatmaps for product improvement during beta. Anonymises sensitive content. Active until 30th May 2026.

Zerodha Kite Connect

Provides live market data (prices, volumes, options chain) for the dashboard. We do not place orders on your behalf and never access your Zerodha account or holdings.

If you join our channel @sentiotraderin, Telegram handles your subscription. We see only public Telegram identifiers, not your phone number or contacts.

Hostinger / Cloudflare

Hosting and content delivery. Server logs may contain your IP address and request timestamps for security and operational purposes.

HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT DATA

Your data lives on Firebase Firestore in Google's Mumbai region. Communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Authentication tokens are managed by Firebase and never exposed in your browser's localStorage in plain form.

That said, no system is unbreakable. If we ever have a data breach affecting your account, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovering it, as required under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA

Account data — kept as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days if you ask us to delete your account.
Virtual trades and journal — kept indefinitely while your account is active. You can request deletion of specific entries any time.
Session recordings — kept by Microsoft Clarity for up to 13 months, then automatically deleted.
Server logs — kept for up to 30 days for security purposes, then rotated out.

YOUR RIGHTS UNDER INDIAN LAW

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the following rights:

Right to access — ask us what data we have about you.
Right to correction — fix anything that's wrong or outdated.
Right to erasure — ask us to delete your account and associated data.
Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint if you feel your data has been mishandled.
Right to nominate — name someone to exercise your rights if you can't.

To exercise any of these rights, message us on Telegram at @sentiotraderin. We will respond within 7 working days.

CHILDREN

SENTIO is intended for users aged 18 and above. Trading in F&O is regulated and not appropriate for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, message us on Telegram and we will remove the account.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy as SENTIO grows — for example, when we add new features, switch infrastructure, or comply with new regulations. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change. Material changes will also be announced in the Telegram channel.
